A relaxing block puzzle in the spirit of 1010! and Block Blast. No timer, no pressure — just you, the grid, and one satisfying clear after another. The kind of game you pick up for a minute and put down twenty minutes later.
The goal
Fill an entire row or column and it vanishes, freeing up space and earning points. The game ends only when none of your three pieces can fit anywhere, so keeping the board tidy is the game.
How to play
- Take your three pieces. You are given three shapes at a time, in different sizes and colours.
- Drag them onto the grid. Drop each one wherever it fits on the 8 by 8 board.
- Clear lines. Fill all eight cells of a row or column and it clears in a flash.
- Build combos. Clear several lines with a single placement, or clear lines on back-to-back moves, and a rising multiplier kicks in.
Place all three pieces and three new ones appear.
Controls
| What you see | What it means |
|---|---|
| Drag | Pull a piece from the tray onto the grid. |
| Ghost preview | Shows exactly where the piece will land as you drag. |
| Highlighted lines | Rows or columns about to clear light up before you drop. |
Scoring
| Action | Reward |
|---|---|
| Placing a block | A point per block. |
| Line clear | A chunky bonus for a full row or column. |
| Combo | Clears on consecutive moves stack a rising multiplier. |
Your best score is saved, so there is always a personal record to beat.
Three quick tips
- Keep the board as empty as you can. Open space is what keeps you alive.
- Always leave room for the big 3 by 3 square. Running out of space for it ends most games.
- Remember that columns clear too. Build in both directions, not just across.
About the game
Inlay is an original PlayNook game. It belongs to the modern family of drag-and-drop block puzzles, where the challenge is not speed but foresight: every piece you place decides which pieces you can still place afterwards.
