Terms and Conditions

1. Scope

These terms govern your use of playnook.io and everything on it: the games, the articles and the diagram tools. The operator is Compu Global Hyper Meganet UG, whose full details are in the imprint.

2. What the site costs

Nothing. There is no charge, no subscription, no account and no registration. We do not ask for your email address, and there is no paid tier that unlocks anything.

3. Availability

We aim to keep the site running, but we do not guarantee that it is available at any particular moment. Maintenance, technical faults and problems at our hosting provider can all interrupt it. We may change, add or withdraw games and features at any time without notice.

4. How you may use it

You are welcome to play the games and read the articles, privately or in a classroom.

You may not:

• copy the games or articles and publish them elsewhere as your own;
• retrieve the site automatically in a way that burdens the server — scraping at volume, for example;
• attempt to circumvent security measures, or interfere with the site’s operation.

5. Diagrams you create

Diagrams you build with our diagram tools belong to you. You may use them anywhere, including commercially — in a book, a worksheet, a forum post or a video — without asking us and without crediting us. We claim no rights over what you make with them.

6. Our content

The games, articles, illustrations and the design of this site are protected by copyright. Short quotations with a source reference are fine, as copyright law allows. Republishing whole articles or hosting our games on another site is not.

7. Links to other sites

Where we link to somewhere else, we have no control over what that site contains or how it handles your data. Those sites are the responsibility of their own operators, and their privacy policies apply once you arrive there.

8. Liability

We are fully liable for damage caused intentionally or through gross negligence, and for injury to life, body or health. For slight negligence we are liable only where an obligation essential to the purpose of this agreement has been breached, and then only up to the damage typically foreseeable in such cases. Liability under the German Product Liability Act is unaffected.

Beyond that, we are not liable. In particular we accept no liability for lost game progress or scores: those live in your own browser, and clearing your browser data deletes them.

9. Changes to these terms

We may amend these terms where technical developments or changes in the law require it. The current version always applies, and is the one you are reading.

10. Applicable law

German law applies, excluding the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods. If you are a consumer resident in the European Union, this does not deprive you of the protection of mandatory provisions of the law of your country of residence.

We are neither willing nor obliged to take part in dispute resolution proceedings before a consumer arbitration board.

11. Severability

Should any provision of these terms be or become invalid, the validity of the remaining provisions is unaffected.
